Guitarist Tom Ollendorff is fast gaining a reputation as one of the most exciting young musicians on the UK jazz scene. Tonight he will present a selection of his compositions and arrangements with his trio.
Guitarist Tom Ollendorff has fast been building a reputation as an outstanding improviser and imaginative composer, whose music elegantly blends songlike themes, conversational improvising, baroque-like unaccompanied etudes, and headlong fast-bop swing.
Tom has worked with some of the jazz world’s leading names including Ari Hoenig, Ben Wendel, Bill McHenry, Jeff Williams and Huw Warren.
★★★★ (BBC Music Magazine) – “For this listener, Ollendorff’s sensitivity to space and nuance, and the expressive economy of his phrasing sometimes recalls the work of the legendarily graceful Jim Hall” – John Fordham
“Traditional, Very Classy” – The Guardian
