The Saloon League - Modern Vintage Jukebox

Friday 14th December 2018

The Saloon League is a London based swing/retro band.  Setting the scene from 1920’s American Jazz in both costume style and musical interpretation, The Hampstead Jazz Club offers the perfect intimate space for this intriguing band to invoke that smouldering ambience of a bygone era.  Modern vintage jukebox is a growing phenomenon and favourite with audiences globally and The Saloon League perfectly delivers that crossover of turning the new into old.

This ensemble prides itself in paying attention to every detail within their performance, from their presentation to their musical arrangements, by bringing a flavour of nostalgic jazz to iconic popular songs of today.

Their clever adaptation of reinterpreting popular contemporary songs and setting them to an array of jazz genres including Swing, Gypsy Jazz and New Orleans style, is as if these songs were classics in the history of jazz. The Saloon League’s vintage style offers an added dimension to their show, by incorporating acting in the overall musical performance.  This truly draws the audience into a sultry jazz club experience reminiscent of a past time.
