The Hampstead Jazz Club is thrilled to present “Wildflowers” the new, and already 4th album of The New Conrad Miller Trio. The title refers to a composition by Wayne Shorter on his LP ‘SPEAK NO EVIL’ (released in 1966).

The Conrad Miller Trio

For us wildflowers have several symbolic meanings including happiness, joy, and remembrance. As a trio we had so much fun and joy while recording this album. Therefore, we hope to spread that positive energy, whenever you hear us playing live, or while listening to our album. We are all Wildflowers in our own unique way.

‘A nice mix of Keith Jarrett, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Vijay Ayer and Brad Mehldau’

Early 2018 pianist Coen Molenaar released the CD and LP “Sounding Silence ‘. Together with Enrique Firpi (drums) and David de Marez Oyens (double-bass) they are ‘ The New Conrad Miller Trio‘.

Con Alma was the second studio album followed by ‘live at In-jazz Rotterdam’ in 2020

The three studio albums have been received very well internationally which resulted in nice concerts throughout Germany, Poland and Benelux.

Use of South American rhythms and harmonies combined with traditional Jazz as well as blues and soul result in lyrical, impressionistic compositions. Arrangements are both melancholic and at the same time joyful. Classic harmony and counterpoint coupled with high energy, authentic powerful grooves bring a new colour and dimension to the traditional jazz trio.

The variety of backgrounds of the three musicians in this new acoustic piano trio brings an original blend of styles and moods.

Coen and Enrique played for years with American Jazz vocalist Deborah Carter.

David and Coen are still touring with the legendary Jan Akkerman. David’s all-time interest in the Rhythms of the world locks in easily with Enrique’s rich world of rhythm.

In September 2021 nominated for the Edison Jazz (oldest and most prestigious Dutch prize in music)

The beautiful artwork of each of the albums are from Russian/ American painter Michael Cheval.

This is a romantic set by the trio. every track strikes an emotional nerve and every track has a strong groove thatll capture your heart along with your mindreally liked this!” – Randy Brecker

Heavily swinging main stream Jazz on a high level, Con Alma is a highly attractive package – for example for friends of Tingvall or Emil Brandqvist Trio.” – Rolf Thomas in JAZZTHING
