Jazz vocalist and songwriter Sarah L King returns to the Hampstead Jazz Club after her sold out debut earlier this year. Showcasing her flair for delivering jazz standards and soulful melodies, Sarah will also be showcasing some brand new originals, as well as favourite songs from her critically acclaimed debut album ‘Fire Horse’.
In 2024 Sarah released her debut album, “Fire Horse“, produced by Claire Martin OBE, & featuring Jim Watson, Ian Thomas, Laurence Cottle & Jeremy Brown. Featuring mostly her own compositions, Sarah has been lauded by critics for her ‘vocal prowess and formidable songwriting and arranging ability’. Her vocal timbre and songwriting style have been compared to the likes of Rumer, and her music has featured on ‘Jazz FM’s Single Of The Week‘, as well as BBC Radio 3 Jazz Requests, and Helen Mayhew’s True Brits.
An accomplished bandleader, Sarah naturally combines the ease and conversational style of jazz with soulful overtones and a musicality that effortlessly engages and connects with her audience. Her unique phrasing and ability to imbue an emotional depth to lyrics have brought Sarah much recent acclaim.
Her recent sold-out album launch gig at Pizza Express Jazz Club Soho, has put her firmly on the map as an exciting rising star to look out for.

‘I love Sarah’s vocal style and songwriting skills. Thought-provoking, tender and sophisticated lyrics set to soulful jazz melodies that are fresh and well crafted‘ – Claire Martin OBE
