Celebrating all things Italian, The Hampstead Jazz Club has partnered with La Gaffe Restaurant to offer a fixed Aperitivo menu before presenting Aficionado and world renowned Italian Saxophonist Renato Aiello with his quartet and a special performance by the fabulous Deelee Dube’
One of Europe’s leading saxophonists, Renato D’Aiello has toured all over the world with a seemingly endless list of jazz legends including Art Farmer, Steve Grossman and Gilad Atzmon. Alongside the silky-smooth vocals of singer, Deelee Dube, D’Aiello leads his own quartet of top-notch musicians, playing a mix of original compositions and much-loved jazz standards in their own unmistakable style
Whether he’s performing at Ronnie Scott’s or The Barbican, this Italian-born sax supremo has an ageless lyrical style that’s as cool as a mountain stream. As The Guardian’s esteemed jazz critic, John Fordham, put it: ‘D’Aiello’s weighty, behind-the-beat sound shows how a poetic imagination can rekindle a long-gone style without nostalgia.’
Deelee Dubé – The first British winner of the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, Deelee Dubé makes her second visit to Hampstead jazz club. Deelee, who established her London reputation with tenor saxophonist Renato D’Aiello at Ronnie Scott’s Acoustic Jazz Lounge. will also perform a selection of her favourite standards and a couple of originals with Renato.
