Hampstead Jazz Club in partnership with SPIRITLAND – KING’S CROSS to present an exclusive album listening evening of Tara Minton’s – “Please Do Not Ignore The Mermaid”
SPIRITLAND has a series of spaces in London for music lovers, incorporating an all-day restaurant, a café and bar, a radio studio and a shop, all built around an outstanding sound system and music policy.
Sought-after by Björk, Tom Walker, Disney and more, Australian-born, London-based singer and jazz harpist Tara Minton has written and recorded an extraordinary record inspired by the mythology of mermaids.
A jazz album with depth and a sense of expansiveness, the harp acts as a powerful undertow within the ensemble, capturing the listener and sweeping them away into previously unexplored waters of sound.
With artwork by painter and musician Blanche Ellis, ‘Please Do Not Ignore The Mermaid’ will be released on 6th November as a limited-edition CD and vinyl, with only 500 copies of the former and 250 copies of the latter available.
Tonight for the first time, the entire album will be played on heavy-duty vinyl at SPIRITLAND, with an opportunity to hear from Tara Minton on the album, interviewed by Jonathan Wingate, broadcaster and music journalist.
Line-Up:
Tara Minton – Harpist/Songwriter/Singer
Jonathan Wingate – BBC Broadcaster, Music Journalist
This is a fully seated event. COVID-19 regulations apply for seating and all measures are in place to ensure the safety of the audience.
