Following a Sold-Out Event, the Hampstead Jazz Club are proud to host a 2nd special book launch by Michael John Ross described as one of the UK’s most seasoned session guitarist by Guitarist Magazine. The evening will be accompanied by a special performance and book signing.
Over the past 20 years Michael John Ross has established himself as one of London’s top session players and educators.
In 2019 he co-wrote and performed the stage show Seven Decades – The story of the electric guitar. The show became the first ever live performance of its kind to be commissioned by The V&A, leading to a run of sell our shows at the museum.
His new book The Great Guitarists of the 1950’s tells the story of the pioneering players from the golden era such as Les Paul, Chet Atkins, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Hank Garland and Jimmy Bryant.
This unique launch event brings the book and its music to life.
