Described as “timeless” and “an absolute delight,” Madeleine Rose Witney will bring her charisma, charm, and irresistible swing to Hampstead Jazz Club for the first time. A woman with a voice like velvet, Madeleine takes her every experience, wraps it in song and leads the audience through her lyrical and cinematic world with a glamorous style and verve at once all her own and emulating the Golden Age.

You definitely don’t want to miss out on this exquisite event!

Madeleine Rose Witney

A masterful storyteller, Madeleine leads her band through a repertoire spanning traditional standards and her own original compositions on a journey through soulful blues, the swing of the jazz era, and and through the decades to more contemporary moods. With a voice like velvet, Madeleine takes her life experience, wraps it in song and leads the audience into her lyrical and cinematic world with a style and verve at once all her own yet draped in the glamour of the Golden Age.

Finding her voice as a young woman thanks to the sounds of jazz legends from the 1930s to the 1950s, Madeleine draws from the well of Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Anita O’Day and Julie London. Inspired by the techniques of these songstresses of yesteryear, Madeleine’s live performances are vintage inspired but modern, relevant, sometimes outré and always designed to engage and provoke.

Madeleine’s unique talent is gauging atmospheres and guiding her listeners on a journey. She tailors each performance to move from soft subtle jazz vocals floating through the air to vibrant, rousing highs that bring everyone to their feet! Supported by London’s greatest jazz musicians, often championing female talent, Madeleine has become one of the most sought-after performers on the London vintage dance scene.

Madeleine Rose Witney has already built a solid foundation of followers thanks to her performances at high-profile venues in London: The Royal Albert Hall, The Roundhouse, The Victoria & Albert Museum and her two SOLD OUT shows at The Jazz Cafe. Her previous residences include The Groucho Club, Kimpton Fitzroy, Nightjar, Adam Street Private Members Club, Bloomsbury Bar, Primo, Oriole and Novikov.

Madeleine Rose Witney mesmerised the Jazz Cafe audience with her SOLD OUT headline show.” – Lev Harris – Events Manager Jazz Cafe
