LARA EIDI

In this special program created in honour of Women’s Day , the worlds of musical theatre, jazz and singer-songwriter traditions come together with creative yet elegant delivery in a concert sure to create an enriching atmosphere. The evening program includes an hommage to the leading ladies of song, amongst them Barbara Streisand, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, including original compositions performed by Lara and a stellar line up of musicians. The music performed will also look at re-interpretations of the trio’s favourite songwriters, set to be an evening of a journey through song and time.

Singer/Songwriter/Performer/Artist extraordinaire Lara Eidi brings an evening of vocal clarity and crispness dedicated to famous jazz and cross over female singers. Lara’s Greek-Lebanese background inspires her in her original works which consist of a blend of contemporary jazz and folk styles.

When Lara moved to London, she completed a Masters in Jazz Voice Studies at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, in London where she now resides. She began to appear as an invited guest with Ian Shaw, Liane Carroll, and often engaged in music collaborations with creative cross- genre endeavours, blending jazz, folk and world music traditions.

Jazz singer and collaborative songwriter Lara released her EP’s to rave reviews and took her band on tour around Greece, Scotland, and Lebanon.

Lara is set to record her debut album ” Transition” later this year, with the ensemble of musicians who will join her for this performance.

She was praised for having a voice that “was reminiscent of ” Streisand’s clear vocal empathy yet Joni Mitchell in person, something entirely of her own accord” (Broadway Baby, Edinburgh).

Lara Eidi is one of those singers who connects with the audience as soon as she starts to sing.” Sandy Brown Jazz, June 2017

“A singer that knows no niche, because she has created one of her own” Maria Markouli – Athens News

“Sincere, heartfelt. It was then that I realised that music runs through Lara’s veins. It is not just something she does, but it is a part of her very being, far more than just an intense passion.” Andrea Vermark, Culture Box, South Africa
