HJC DEBUT PERFORMANCE AND NEW ALBUM RELEASE BY THIS AWARD WINNING DUO!

Kiiōtō (@we_are_kiioto) are Mercury Music Prize nominated singer/songwriter Lou Rhodes, and award winning musician/hit songwriter Rohan Heath. Their debut album, due out on Nude Records in spring 2024, was hugely inspired by the band’s recent trip to Louisiana, and draws upon their diverse love of jazz, soul, folk and roots music.

When asked about the album, Kiiōtō said:

“It’s the album we have always wanted to write: every note played, and vocal sung in the past has been part of the journey to Kiiōtō. Finally we have reached our destination.”

The gig at HJC will be the band’s first show, with them playing paired down, acoustic versions of their songs, centred around Rohan on piano, and Lou on vocals and guitar. A rare opportunity to catch Kiiōtō in what will undoubtedly be their most intimate show.

Lou Rhodes’s last album, 2016, got 4 star reviews in The I Paper (Album of the week), The Observer, Sunday Express (Album of the week), The Times, The Sun, The Mirror, Record Collector.
