HJC is hugely excited to bring you the highly anticipated new release ‘Traveling Light’ from the upcoming new album “The Path Of A Tear” from the superb JO HARROP and her extraordinary voice!

Jo will be performing with her fabulous quartet, featuring guitarist Mike Redfern.

Traveling Light‘ is the second single released from the much anticipated album, “The Path Of A Tear“, and to celebrate the release, Jo and her band will perform songs from the new album, including this incredible single, which is a unique cover of Leonard Cohens ‘Traveling Light‘ taken from his final released album, “You Want It Darker“.

Jo has reworked the song with producer, Larry Klein, who was a close friend of Leonard Cohen, and suggested that Jo interpret it in her own way, breathing her own life story into it.

This will be the first time they perform this live, so prepare to experience the world premier of this class act in the intimate setting of the Hampstead Jazz Club.

JO HARROP

Having received unanimous critical acclaim for her last three albums, Jo Harrop recently sold out two shows at Ronnie Scott’s and a string of dates around the UK and in New York. Blessed with a chocolate and cream voice that is delicately poised between beguiling sensuality and exquisite fragility, her mellifluous music could melt the hardest of hearts.

With this new album “The Path of a Tear” Jo is set to soar in her ability to transcend each song with her melting vocals and story-telling prowess which makes her one of the most acclaimed vocalists in London today.

The extraordinary voice of Jo Harrop, beautiful, sublime, spine-tingling – what a voice!” Jo Whiley 2021

Jo Harrop is a rising name on the jazz scene today, her most recent albums being played on Jo Whiley’s radio 2 show, Iggy Pop’s BBC Radio 6 music show, and playlisted on Jazz FM, as well as gaining 4 and 5 star reviews in the Guardian, Jazzwise, The Mirror, Hifi Choice and more.
