The Hampstead Jazz Club is thrilled to report and announce the return of our revered MD/Pianist Jamie Safir in this rescheduled performance of what promises to be a night worth the wait!

After sell-out performances at Ronnie Scott’s and Crazy Coqs, our resident musical-director JAMIE SAFIR brings his sparkling and new one-man show co-written and directed by Ian Shaw to the most intimate club in London The Hampstead Jazz Club.

Safir is a critically-acclaimed, much-loved young jazz virtuoso, collaborator with pop-music royalty as well as a witty raconteur.  ‘Piano Talk’ presents the glamorous (and not so glamorous!) view from the piano including tales of working with the likes of Will Young, Kylie Minogue and Julian Clary.

Expect a wonderfully diverse selection of Safir’s exciting new arrangements, interwoven with often hilarious tales of performing on the central London live scene.  Tunes and tales from the iconic West End venues – Ronnie Scotts, The Savoy, The French House, The Ritz, The Groucho Club and many more.

Jamie is a Decca-Recording artist (featured on ‘Alone Together’) and a stalwart of the London Jazz and Cabaret Scene. Collaborating with Will Young regularly since 2015, he’s toured with Mica Paris, Birdy, performed with The Brand New Heavies, Olly Murs, Claire Martin, Elaine Delmar, Le Gateau Chocolat, Clare Teal, Liane Carrol, Rebecca Ferguson, Steps & Tony Christie.

“…one of the biggest talents of British jazz piano” – Jay Rayner, The Guardian

Jamie on piano was riveting. I got the nightbus home, Oh the glamour!” – Julian Clary

Safir plays with wonderful judgment, delicacy and alertness” – London Jazz News
