James Brown Is Annie are undoubtedly the finest funk and soul band to emerge from Scotland since Average White Band ruled the airwaves. A potent mixture of uncut funk and sweet soul, their sophisticated sound is reminiscent of everyone from Stevie Wonder to Steely Dan. James Brown Is Annie’s influences may be quintessentially American, yet they have an unmistakably gritty groove that could only come from this side of the pond.

Line-Up:

Aki Remally –  Guitar/ Vox

Barry Gordon – Guitar/Vox

Brett Allan – Bass

Eddie Miller –  Electric Piano/Vox

Jonny White –  Tenor Sax

Scott Jamieson – Drums
