Iago Banet, was born in Galicia in the north-west of Spain. As a teenager, he found a classical guitar at home and began to play. From that moment, there was no going back, guitar became his passion, his obsession and his future.

In 2014, Banet moved to London in search of new avenues, challenges and projects to develop his career. There, he joined bands including JFK Blue and The Boo-Hoos, before forming ColorColour (formally Deep Blue Sea), with whom he has recorded and toured two albums.

Since 2018, Banet has been developing his career as a solo fingerstyle guitarist, inspired by the likes of Merle Travis, Chet Atkins and Tommy Emmanuel. In 2019, he recorded and toured his first solo album, “A Sunset Wine. In 2020, he launched his second album, eponymously titled, “Iago Banet, and in 2021, he recorded a live album, including several new tracks, which he will be touring throughout 2022. A new studio album is planned for summer 2022.

Banet has performed at venues and festivals across the UK and Spain to rave reviews!

‘He proves to be a technically brilliant fingerpicker who also brings plenty of heart, soul and personality to the proceedings’ Rock’n’Reel Magazine

‘He’s influenced by the great guitar pickers such as Merle Travis, Chet Atkins and, latterly, Tommy Emmanuel. And he shares their ability to paint pictures on his fret board through a delightful lightness of touch, fluidity and that rare ability to share emotions through his fingers’- Pete Feenstra (Music journalist)

‘If musical talent is measured in ability, then Iago’s acoustic guitar playing goes beyond infinity. It surpasses all expectations for a solo artist playing in this music genre. He carries the audience with him’-  Andy Davies (Promoter)
