The Hampstead Jazz Club is pleased to announce a partnership with PizzaExpress Live, to present select shows at PizzaExpress Live in Holborn.

PizzaExpress Live in partnership with the Hampstead Jazz Club proudly present Singer – Songwriter Shezzie showcasing a wonderful and creative collision of her Caribbean and British roots. She released her first solo album ‘Catch the Boat’ in 2017 and is currently working on a new EP produced by Ciyo Brown to be launched in 2022 supported by a ‘From Sugar 2 Shezzie’ touring showcase.

This showcase is a unique musical fusion of Jazz, Reggae and Neo Soul as she magically captures a musical vibrancy reflecting her life’s journey through superbly crafted lyrics, wrapped in beautiful harmonies, delivered in the style and tones reminiscent of singers like the I Threes, Sade, Erykah Badu and Billy Holiday.

Shezzie was born and raised in south London and is the Founder member of the successful vocal trio Brown Sugar along with Caron Wheeler (Soul II Soul) and Carol Simms (Kofi), who during the 70’s and 80’ had a succession of hit’s and became the pioneers of the popular genre known today as ‘Lovers Rock.’

Shezzie’s musically dynamic and poetic performance will take you back in time, reminiscing and telling the story of the early days of Brown Sugar while charting her fascinating musical journey to date and performing her latest music releases.
