The Hampstead Jazz Club brings you an ongoing collaboration between Georgia Mancio and Robin Aspland, two of the UK’s finest interpreters of jazz and modern song, where world-class storytelling and improvisation are equal partners. Together they create a warm, intimate musical conversation.

Multi-award-winning vocalist and lyricist Georgia Mancio is celebrated for collaborations with Grammy-winning pianist and composer Alan Broadbent, Ian Shaw, Liane Carroll, and her own ReVoice! Festival. Her beautifully unadorned delivery brings rare emotional honesty and a formidable connection with audiences.

Robin Aspland’s pianistic virtuosity and joyous musicality have made him a favourite for over 30 years, working with artists including Cleo Laine, Ronnie Scott, Van Morrison and Georgie Fame.

GEORGIA MANCIO

Georgia Mancio is one of the UK’s foremost jazz vocalists, winner of two Parliamentary Jazz Awards (Best Album 2020, Best Vocalist 2021), as well as multiple nominations at the Jazz FM, British Jazz and Urban Music Awards.

Her versatility is matched by a rare authenticity, acknowledged by Guardian jazz critic John Fordham: “This quietly evocative singer has long been a lot more than a standards specialist: she can reinvent Antonio Carlos Jobim classics; skip through fast bebop swingers; and captivate audiences with the storytelling of her originals”.

Last year, she released the internationally acclaimed album ‘A Story Left Untold’, her third with Grammy-winning pianist and composer Alan Broadbent. Together they have toured Europe and the US, including Ronnie Scott’s and Dizzy’s Club (Jazz at Lincoln Center), and co-written 50 songs. Other collaborations and highlights include Liane Carroll, Ian Shaw, the BBC Proms, Pat Metheny (lyric approval), Bobby McFerrin, and her own international festival, ReVoice!

ROBIN ASPLAND

Robin Aspland has been a major player on the British jazz scene for over 30 years. His diverse credits are testament to his range: Cleo Laine, Van Morrison, George Coleman, Bobby Watson, Eddie Henderson, Ronnie Scott, Steve Grossman, Kenny Wheeler, Art Themen and Georgie Fame, among others. Combining sophisticated harmonic language with deep musicality, he is both a sensitive accompanist and a compelling player in his own right.

“Mancio has everything covered – technical mastery, expressive range and a remarkable versatility” ****The Observer
