Filippo Dall’Asta is an Italian Gypsy jazz guitarist, composer, bandleader and arranger, mixing the sounds of Gypsy jazz and his native Italy with traditional Indian music, to forge his own style of progressive guitar playing: ‘Mediterasian’.

Filippo began playing at the age of 5 in Parma, Italy. In 2010, at the age of 23, he arrived in the UK. He has toured and recorded with hundreds of artists such as Lollo Meier, John Wheatcroft, Gypsy Dynamite, Harp Bazaar, Tara Minton (Björk), The Onironauts and many more.

His touring resume covers Germany, India, Italy, France, Spain, England, Malta and Russia, with notable appearances at The Royal Albert Hall, the House of Parliament, the Tower of London, the Union Chapel, and many festivals in France and Italy.

Filippo has just released his first solo album: “Mediterasian”, innovative album featuring over 20 musicians in which the erratic energy of Gypsy jazz combine with the meditative sonorities of Indian music.

His album was reviewed as “One of the best instrumental albums of 2018” by LA Music Critic Awards
Tonight, he will perform with his quartet. An evening not to be missed.

“Filippo Dall’Asta’s “Mediterasian” is a great fusion of Gypsy jazz and Indian music. The sounds of the two traditions blend perfectly with each other creating a fresh, original and innovative debut album. Highly recommended!”– Mozes Rosenberg

“I enjoyed this album tremendously. The playing is superb and the compositions and arrangements are compelling and intriguing. This is a wonderful debut album from a fantastic guitarist with a accomplished ensemble with first class material” – John Wheatcroft of Guitar Techniques Magazines

“I highly recommend the latest album by Filippo Dall’Asta, Mediterasean, a highly refined work that blends very successfully middle eastern sounds with gypsy swing. The songs, many of which original compositions, are  very balanced, combining beautiful melodies, skill without overbearing technique and wonderful tones of each instrument. A pleasure to hear, whether on a road trip or in a living room.”– Dario Napoli
