Saxophonist Matt Telfer, takes you on a humorous and heart felt journey of the very best in jazzy blues with his talented band, Them Dirty Blues. This five piece takes it’s name from the breath-taking 1960 album by The Cannonball Adderley Quintet, paying homage to the rich and lyrical variations that Jazz Blues has to offer while touching on it’s Gospel origins.

Band leader and saxophonist, Matt Telfer developed ‘Them Dirty Blues’ during lockdown. With a combination of his favourite jazz musicians and composers, the project would be ideal for encouraging people to venture out and experience live music after the pandemic. With its feel good vibe and band humour, the project showcases the very best of the jazz, blues and
soul music.

Christian Prior

Christian grew up in a tiny, remote village on the beautifully bleak moors of the North of England where his days became filled with writing songs, playing piano, singing, and listening to as much music as he could. At the age of 18, with a burning desire to continue his musical journey, Christian moved to the thriving metropolis of London where he studied jazz and classical music. Followed by time honing his skills working as a freelance musician and finding his own artistic voice.

Christian’s music brings together his love for jazz, rock, classical music, electronica, as well as traditional music from across the globe. Soaring synths, rare grooves, and virtuosic piano solos underpin a vulnerable yet powerful voice singing subtle and well crafted lyrics. Both the the cold, dark beauty of the moors, and the frantic, vibrant energy of London can be heard in Christian’s eclectic sound.
