Jazz FM’s Classic Album Playback series in partnership with the Hampstead Jazz Club.

Nine times Grammy nominated LA based saxophonist Dave Koz and Hampstead Jazz Club’s very own Jo Harrop recreate classic Christmas songs for a special Jazz FM Christmas broadcast show.

Hosted by jazz legend Ian Shaw, the programme concentrates on pivotal classic jazz Christmas songs that have stood the test of time. Songs from Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Wilson, Doris, Peggy Lee and more….

Recorded in front of a discerning audience at the Hampstead Jazz Club, a panel led by music journalist Jonathan Wingate will play the classic tracks and discuss their opinions on why the tracks worked to create the classic work we know of today, adding a layer of knowledge and understanding that will feed the inquisitive mind of the audience.

Following the playback, Dave Koz and Jo Harrop will re-create a number of the classic tracks, performing a mini-set, which you can hear as part of the broadcast.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a special show for Jazz FM, tickets are very limited for this special event.
