One of the world’s most dazzling tenor players, London-based, Perth-born saxophonist Brandon Allen has quite literally been blowing audiences away since he first touched down on these shores.

With a fluid, sophisticated style that can be reminiscent of Gene Ammons one minute and Sonny Stitt the next, it’s no surprise that he is one of the most in-demand saxophonists in the world. Regularly taking centre stage everywhere from Ronnie Scott’s to the Royal Albert Hall, Allen has spent his illustrious career working with a seemingly endless list of legendary musicians including Stan Tracey, Jools Holland and Eric Clapton.

Accompanied by double bassist Arnie Somogyi and drummer Lloyd Haines, Allen has teamed up with long-time collaborator, pianist Tim Lapthorn, to form an exciting new quartet, playing a whole set of freshly written compositions that brilliantly blur the boundaries between bebop and blues.
