The masterful “Blue Town Trio” return to The Hampstead Jazz Club to debut their latest explosive album release “”Somewhere in The Night” – released on Diving Duck Records. This promises to be another spectacular night of live music from this incomparable trio and will sell-out quickly!

The “Blue Town trio” features emerging London-based talented vocalist Zoe Francis, the legendary multi-award winning guitarist Jim Mullen, (Morrissey Mullen, Terry Callier, Georgie Fame, Gene Harris) and the incomparable Ross Stanley on Hammond organ b3.

It’s another cracking repertoire of classic standards in fresh arrangements. The 11 tracks on the album including the title, “Somewhere in The Night“, “Who can I turn Too“, “Too Late Now“, “Midnight Sun“, ” Maybe September” showcase Zoe’s love of great lyrics, evident here in her quality song choice, combined with two great jazz musicians of the UK jazz scene! Zoe’s beautiful voice is set against the rich layers of sound from Ross’s Hammond and Jim’s melodic blues lines which make this trio sound like a mini orchestra – not to be missed!

The album is a selection of classic standards from American and UK songbooks, with fresh arrangements and tempos, inspired by the Blue Note recordings of Grant Green/guitar and Larry Young/organ. “I love the way these musicians took familiar standards and transformed them. The title track of my new album “Somewhere in the night”  was from their album “Street of Dreams”. Zoe’s beautiful voice brings the great lyrics of these songs to life, set against the rich layers of sound from the incomparable Ross Stanley and blues-drenched melodic guitar lines of Jim Mullen.

Something a bit special is going on when this artist takes the stage…a classy poised singer” – London Jazz News

Zoe communicates a love and understanding of the classic American Songbook with the lightest of touches, her choice of not-quite forgotten songs is canny too” – Dave Gelly Observer
