Finalist and runner-up in the Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Competition in Washington D.C, Becky Alice uses her love of soulful swing, the American Songbook and energetic scat singing to bring the music of the First Lady of Song to life at Crazy Coqs – backed by a world-class band, featuring Phil Robson on guitar to The Hampstead Jazz Club. Expect well-known classics reimagined in a new light, as well as lesser-known tunes from the extensive catalogue of incredible music attributed to Ella Fitzgerald.

BECKY ALICE

South-london based singer Becky Alice’s first E.P of jazz standards and vocalese was featured on BBC Radio 3 in 2025, with her newest release coming later this year. She is joined by Phil Robson (Guitar), Oli Hayhurst (Double bass) and Tim Sampson (Drums). Named as “one to discover south of the river” by UK Jazz News.

Becky’s love of soulful swing brings an energetic approach to scat singing of songs in the American Songbook, bringing the music of the First Lady of Song to life.

PHIL ROBSON

Phil Robson is a UK born, multi-award-winning guitarist & composer who was a seminal part of the London scene for many years before relocating to New York City in 2015 for five years. He is now based in the Republic of Ireland. He has led bands featuring jazz legends such as David Liebman, Mark Turner and Billy Hart, as well as playing alongside musicians such as Kenny Wheeler, Dame Cleo Laine and Barbra Streisand. Expect well-known classics reimagined in a new light, as well as lesser-known tunes from the extensive catalogue of Ella Fitzgerald.

Seats are not numbered and you will be seated at available tables. Please note tables seat 4 people, so for bookings of less than 4 people, you will be seated and share a table for 4.

For £15.00 Tickets:

This is a fully seated event.  Seats are not numbered and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Please NOTE, there is NO food served in the Jazz Club, there is a bar for drinks. We advise booking a table for dinner at the Duke of Hamilton upstairs at least 1hr before show-time – Book Here 

Please note the Jazz Club is situated in the basement of the Duke of Hamilton Pub and access is via a number of stairs. The nearest toilets are situated on the 1st floor of the Pub.
