Legendary Alto Saxophonist Andy Schofield, who was featured on the George Michael ’Symphonica’ tours, will join us at HJC for a special one-off show ahead of his performance at Ronnie Scotts on Sunday with Nikki Iles. Andy has toured and collaborated with jazz legends Kenny Wheeler, John Taylor, Vince Mendoza & Kurt Elling amongst many others and tonight joins forces with his ex-student and longstanding friend, our own Musical Director, pianist-extraordinaire Jamie Safir who is currently touring with Mica Paris, Will Young & Ian Shaw/Iain Ballamy.

As an arranger, Andy has worked in the commercial and jazz worlds, and contributed arrangements to the BBC Big Band, Ronnie Scott’s Club Jazz Orchestra, Bulgarian Radio Big Band, and Czech Radio Big Band amongst others.

He is also a co-founder of the Jazz Dock Orchestra, a new big band based at Jazz Dock jazz club in Prague, playing original compositions and arrangements, as well as repertoire from the great jazz composer/arrangers.
