Deelee Dubé – The first British winner of the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, Deelee Dubé makes her first visit to Hampstead jazz club to perform songs made famous by the late Nancy Wilson, who we lost in December 2018.
Deelee, who established her London reputation with tenor saxophonist Renato D’Aiello at Ronnie Scott’s Acoustic Jazz Lounge. will also perform a selection of her favourite standards and a couple of originals.
Alex Webb is a songwriter, arranger and pianist. His songs have been recorded by jazz singers China Moses, Mina Agossi, Sandra Nkake, Liane Carroll, Allan Harris, Alexia Gardner and Alexander Stewart, among others. His show ‘Cafe Society Swing’ has enjoyed several theatre runs in London and one in New York, where he received the New York Times ‘Critic’s Pick’.
We at HJC are privileged to have Alex perform for many singers known to HJC regulars, including Jo Harrop, Judi Jackson, Vimala Rowe and Irene Jalenti and he will continue to feature as one of our top Pianists at the club.
