Enjoy a cosy and intimate romantic Valentine’s evening at The Hampstead Jazz Club, with Soul II Soul’s vocalist aptly named Rose Windross, coming together for this night of love with the illustrious Alex Webb Trio for a very specially curated evening of songs from the great ladies of Jazz!

Rose Windross

Rose Windross launched Soul II Soul’s career with the club classic ‘Fairplay‘, which she co-wrote and to which she added a searing vocal, creating a track which put UK R&B firmly on the world map.  This track is still firmly placed as iconic to all Hip Hop historians of today, and for the die-hard fans, ‘Fairplay’ is the given favourite track on the first Soul II Soul album ‘Club Classics Vol 1.

Long after the initial Soul II Soul success, Jazzie B called on Rose several times over, to re-ignite the magic with Rose as the front person adding a touch of class and creating a new worldwide fan base, placing Soul II Soul firmly back on the global map. She performed for fans in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Hong Kong, Brazil and all over Europe, wowing wherever she is heard.

Rose has continued success from a solo perspective in many other areas of music (UKG/House/Dance/DnB. etc) and continuing to collaborate with many big name producers, creating a string of underground hits . Her fan base includes the likes of Louie Vega (Masters at Work), Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse producer), Mousse T, and even Beverley Knight , DJ Spinna & John Morales to name but a few.

At Hampstead Jazz Club, however, Rose will be showing a lyrical side to her singing, displaying her love of jazz giants like Ella and Sarah Vaughan in a set of songs curated especially for Valentine’s Day with pianist Alex Webb’s trio.

Alex Webb Trio

Alex Webb, musical impresario and pianist/composer of this hugely impressive trio, continues to shine in the Jazz world with his diverse works, collaborations, theatre productions and new to be released album. Alex’s recent album release in collaboration with David McAlmont has been received with wide acclaim.

As a prolific songwriter, arranger and pianist, Alex’s songs have been recorded by jazz singers China Moses, Mina Agossi, Sandra Nkake, Liane Carroll, Allan Harris, Alexia Gardner and Alexander Stewart, among others.
