This Hampstead Jazz Club is thrilled to present the remarkable musical partnership between Tony Bennett and Bill Evans, whose voice-and-piano recordings remain among the most intimate and expressive in jazz. Their albums The Tony Bennett/Bill Evans Album (1975) and Together Again (1977) showcases Bennett’s warm storytelling and Evans’s lyrical, harmonically rich piano in beautifully stripped-back performances.

Recreating the spirit of those legendary sessions, this show features voice and piano interpreting songs from the Great American Songbook with sensitivity, spontaneity, and deep musical connection. Expect elegant renditions of timeless standards, performed with the same warmth, subtlety, and emotional depth that made Bennett and Evans’s collaboration so enduring.

The timeless collaboration between legendary vocalist Tony Bennett and visionary jazz pianist Bill Evans and their unique partnership brought together Bennett’s warm, expressive voice and Evans’s lyrical, harmonically rich piano style, create some of the most intimate and sophisticated recordings in jazz history.

In 1975 and 1977, Bennett and Evans recorded two remarkable albums together, The Tony Bennett/Bill Evans Album and Together Again. Stripped down to just voice and piano, these recordings revealed the pure artistry of both musicians. Without the support of a full band, every nuance mattered—Bennett’s storytelling and phrasing intertwined effortlessly with Evans’s delicate touch, impressionistic harmonies, and spontaneous improvisation.

DYLAN ROSS AND WILL INSCOE

This tribute performance revisits that extraordinary musical dialogue. Featuring a vocalist and pianist dedicated to capturing the spirit of Bennett and Evans, the show brings to life beloved standards from the duo’s recordings and the wider Great American Songbook. Audiences can expect beautifully interpreted classics such as “My Foolish Heart,” “The Touch of Your Lips,” and “Some Other Time,” performed with the same intimacy, sensitivity, and emotional depth that defined the original collaborations. More than a concert, this is a celebration of musical conversation—two artists listening deeply, responding in the moment, and allowing the songs to breathe. The Tony Bennett & Bill Evans Tribute Show honours a partnership that remains one of the most elegant and heartfelt expressions of jazz artistry.
