MICHAEL ROSEN

Michael Rosen is one of the Italian Jazz scenes greatest stalwarts. Originally hailing from USA, Rosen has spent the last 35 years based in Rome but wowing audiences across Europe and beyond with his booming tenor and searing soprano sax sound.

Rosen has placed multiple times in top ten lists for best worldwide soprano saxophonist in major publication Jazzit Magazine, and has performed with many world renowned musicians including Bobby McFerrin & Peter Bernstein.

Tonight he shares the stage with top London musicians including renowned trumpeter Quentin Collins to perform a special set of songs and indulge his other performing passion, singing. Included will be songs recorded on his latest album ‘Reawakenings’.

Rosen has been voted three times in the top ten in the Jazzit Magazine Reader’s Poll for best worldwide soprano saxophonist, placing 4th in 2011 after Dave Leibman, Wayne Shorter and Branford Marsalis.

Recent activities have included performances at the Royal Opera House in Muscat, Oman, London Jazz Festival and The British Houses of Parliament, as well as concerts and masterclasses at Washington University in St. Louis.

As a recording artist, Rosen is the author of ten solo albums, and has appeared as guest soloist on over 150 cd’s for Jazz and Pop artists in Italy, the U.K., and the U.S.A. His penultimate cd, ‘Sweet 17‘,  recorded in New York City , was voted by critics of Jazzit Magazine to be “one of the best 100 records of 2018“.In addition, his saxophone solos were featured on the soundtrack for the ISO dance company’s 1991 performances in Tokyo and at the Rockafeller Center in New York City, written by world-famous Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi.

Please note, The Club is not licensed to allow access to Children under the age of 16 after 9pm, so for evening performances, please do not book tickets for children under the age of 16. Children aged 16 and above are welcome at any time.

Seats are not numbered and you will be seated at available tables. Please note tables seat 4 people, so for bookings of less than 4 people, you will be seated and share a table for 4.

For £15.00 Tickets:

This is a fully seated event.  Seats are not numbered and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Please NOTE, there is NO food served in the Jazz Club, there is a bar for drinks. We advise booking a table for dinner at the Duke of Hamilton upstairs at least 1hr before show-time – Book Here 

Please note the Jazz Club is situated in the basement of the Duke of Hamilton Pub and access is via a number of stairs. The nearest toilets are situated on the 1st floor of the Pub.
