Ahead of their performance at Jazz Nad Odra festival Poland, London-based saxophonist Leo Richardson presents his high octane quartet, featuring renowned tenor saxophonist Alex Garnett as a special guest.
LEO RICHARDSON
Known for his powerful sound, melodic clarity, and deep roots in the hard bop tradition, Richardson leads a band that delivers music of high energy, and strong collective identity.
The quartet performs entirely original music firmly grounded in contemporary hard bop. The music balances tradition with a forward-looking edge, allowing space for dynamic improvisation and deep interaction between the musicians. The addition of Alex Garnett brings an extra dimension to the frontline, creating a compelling tenor partnership marked by intensity, swing, and conversational interplay.
ALEX GARNETT
Alex Garnett has been one of the leading saxophonists in the UK and Mainland Europe for over two decades, instantly recognized by his dark, husky sound. A versatile musician, he has enjoyed success as both a jazz artist, composer and arranger, and an in-demand session, studio and commercial saxophonist, having racked up countless recording
credits along the way.
