Jake Werth is joined by Joe Farnsworth and Freddie Jensen for an extra special one-off evening of classic bebop and hard-bop piano trio music, influenced by the rich sounds of Barry Harris, Cedar Walton, Ahmad Jamal and Bud Powell. The evening promises swinging jazz with clarity, focus and soul at its core.

JAKE WERTH

Jake Werth has been performing across the globe for over a decade, including at many of the UK’s most celebrated venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, Dean St and 606. His main inspirations are the great pianists of bebop and hard-bop traditions, and he has collaborated extensively in numerous groups, having performed alongside many of the UK’s finest musicians, including Steve Fishwick, Alex Garnett and Renato D’Aiello to name just a few.

FREDDIE JENSEN

Freddie Jensen is an award-winning bass prodigy, finalist of BBC Young Jazz Musician 2014 and winner of the 2016 BassEurope Jazz Competition in Prague. Jensen’s masterful sense of time and feel is matched by his formidable versatility, having performed alongside Gwilym Simcock, James Maddren and Ivo Neame, alongside many other British legends, in an endless variety of musical contexts.

JOE FARNSWORTH

Joe Farnsworth’s career is uniquely glittering. He has performed and recorded with an enviably large number of the most iconic jazz musicians of the genre’s heritage. His recording track-record is extensive, having entered the studio with Cedar Walton, Benny Golson, Harold Mabern, Pharoah Sanders and countless others. Farnsworth’s hard-hitting, swinging approach has earned him international acclaim, a sizeable online following, and a rightful place at the very forefront of NYC’s jazz drumming elite.
