FIONA ROSS

Fiona Ross has never been one to follow convention, and her latest release, ‘Moments in My Notebook’, is a testament to her boundless creativity and storytelling prowess and cements her place as one of the most fearlessly original voices in contemporary jazz and singer-songwriter storytelling.

‘Moments in My Notebook’ is a chronicle of love, loss, discovery, and relentless creativity, marking her 100th original song release. Across 21 tracks of jazz-fueled storytelling, the award-winning vocalist, pianist, composer and producer delivers an expansive, deeply personal collection that spans the intimate hush of a late-night ballad to the rhythmic pulse of Latin jazz, with moments of raw, stripped-down vulnerability woven throughout.

Ross, best known for carving her own lane in contemporary jazz, Latin rhythms, and vintage club sounds, crafted this album as both a journey through time and an exploration of the present. “I still write everything in notebooks,” Ross shares. “Some songs started with a bass line, some with a lyric, some from something I overheard in a café. This album is 21 moments from those pages—21 moments in my life.”

As vocalist, pianist, composer and producer, Fiona has become known for creating her own contemporary jazz sound incorporating fast paced Latin Jazz, vintage Jazz club, a little neo-soul along with heart wrenching ballads. She came to the world’s attention as ‘the artist that gave Ed Sheeran his ‘first push’ but very quickly established herself as an artist in her own right and has received incredible reviews and awards across the globe for all of her albums.

Her live performances have seen her perform at prestigious venues and festivals across the world such as 606 Club, The Blue Lamp, Pizza Express and the EFG London Jazz Festival, and her music is played on radio stations all over the world including the jazz capital New York.

Fiona has achieved many accolades for her work including Best Jazz Song from the World Songwriting Awards, Outstanding achievement awarded by the Global Music Awards and International female songwriter of the year from the International Singer Songwriters Association. She has been featured in many publications including Jazzwise, Tinnitist, Jazziz, Record World Magazine, Jazz Corner, Ink 19 and Jazz Quarterly. Fiona’s song ‘Mistress’ which was recorded live in a stairwell, was selected to be included in the British Library archives for prosperity.

Highlights abound as Ross celebrates her 100 song milestone. Another excellent creation from an artist owning her own space and getting the props she deserves’ JazzWise ** 4 stars
