The Hampstead Jazz Club is pleased to be taking part in this year’s EFG London Jazz Festival bringing you a line-up of our esteemed artists.
Join us for an unforgettable evening as acclaimed saxophonist Matt Telfer returns to Hampstead Jazz Club with an electrifying new set paying tribute to the soulful, blues-infused side of jazz. Inspired by the legendary Cannonball Adderley, Bobby Timmons, and other iconic artists, this performance dives deep into the rich, expressive tradition of hard bop and blues-driven jazz.

The set, part of Telfer’s exciting new project “Them Dirty Blues”, features fresh interpretations and reimagined arrangements of classic compositions from the golden era of jazz. Expect fiery solos, infectious grooves, and that unmistakable blend of swing and soul that defined an entire movement.
Matt Telfer, a well-established figure on the European jazz scene, has performed with international stars including Rick Braun, Tony Bennett, and Seal. His warm tone, technical brilliance, and expressive playing have made him a standout talent both at home and abroad.
Matt is joined by an outstanding line-up of some of the UK’s most exciting rising and established talents. On piano, the immensely gifted Keenan Ngo, a fresh voice on the London jazz scene, brings both sophistication and youthful energy. Keenan has already performed alongside top UK jazz names including Nigel Price, Simon Spillett, and Soweto Kinch, and is fast becoming one to watch.
On double bass, Dominic Bentham provides deep, resonant tones and masterful technique. Dominic is the bandleader of the acclaimed Metheny Big Band, a staple at the world-renowned Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club.
Holding down the rhythm section is West Midlands-based drummer Aaron, a dynamic player known for his versatility and groove. Aaron has shared the stage with jazz greats such as Soweto Kinch, Alan Barnes, and Nigel Price, and is widely respected for his commitment to keeping jazz vibrant and alive. He and Keenan perform weekly at the prestigious Warwick Arts Centre.

Please note, The Club is not licensed to allow access to Children under the age of 16 after 9pm, so for evening performances, please do not book tickets for children under the age of 16. Children aged 16 and above are welcome at any time.

This is a fully seated event. Seats are not numbered and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Please note the Jazz Club is situated in the basement of the Duke of Hamilton Pub and access is via a number of stairs. The nearest toilets are situated on the 1st floor of the Pub.
