The Hampstead Jazz Club is pleased to be taking part in this year’s EFG London Jazz Festival bringing you a line-up of our esteemed artists.

Critically acclaimed trumpet player and vocalist Pete Horsfall in duo with piano virtuoso Joe Webb. The pair bring their explosive and passionate engagement with the jazz tradition to fruition, with a free flowing set featuring material ranging from Duke Ellington to MF Doom.

PETE HORSFALL

Pete Horsfall a critically acclaimed trumpet player and vocalist based in London, UK. His singular musical vision has seen him featured regularly as a guest on Jazz FM, TSF Paris, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 3.

His unique and innovative engagement with the jazz tradition synthesises early jazz, ragtime, swing and bebop with elements of instrumental hip-hop, ambient electronic soundscapes and free improvisation.

He has performed headline shows at a huge array of prestigious venues and festivals throughout the world, including London’s Royal Albert Hall, New York’s Lincoln Center, Paris’ Duc Des Lombards, The North Sea Jazz Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Cheltenham Jazz Festival and Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club amongst many others.

In addition to his solo projects, Pete has recorded and performed with acts from the jazz and hip-hop worlds including Kansas Smittys, Jamie Cullum, Kurt Elling, DJ Shadow, De La Soul, BBC Concert Orchestra, Curtis Stigers, Georgia Cecile, Joe Stilgoe, Clare Teal, Jim Mullen, Flight Call, Friendly Fires, among many others.

He has led masterclasses and workshops at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Trinity Laban Conservatoire and the University of Cambridge. He is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and grew up in West Yorkshire, where his early musical education came from playing in the proud tradition of colliery brass bands.

Pete is also the Artistic Director of the De Beauvoir Jazz Festival.

JOE WEBB

Joe Webb is a highly regarded pianist, jazz musician, and London-based composer, originally from Wales. He has emerged as a leading force on the U.K jazz scene today, captivating audiences with his exceptional talent and rockstar-like persona.

Born and raised in Wales, Joe Webb relocated to London in 2013, where he has since established himself as an active and influential figure in the music scene. He regularly performs in various European venues, including renowned establishments such as Ronnie Scott’s, The Royal Albert Hall, Dizzys jazz club in New York, KoKo, and the CCB Lisboa.

Joe is known for his work with the acclaimed Kansas Smitty’s, Webb City, Adrian Cox & Rob Luft, and has collaborated with artists like Jamie Cullum and Damien Lewis, showcasing his versatility and adaptability. Not only a remarkable performer, but he is also in high demand as a recording artist, showcasing his exceptional skills on both piano and Hammond organ.

Fuelled by a deep love for 90’s guitar bands and an unwavering passion for football (with a slight obsession for Lionel Messi), Joe Webb brings a unique blend of influences to his music. He skillfully merges traditional piano mastery with a captivating rockstar persona, defying conventions and pushing the boundaries of contemporary jazz.

Following the success of his acclaimed EPs Collblanc and SET in early 2024, Joe Webb now unveils his highly anticipated full-length album Hamstrings & Hurricanes to critical acclaim.

Please note, The Club is not licensed to allow access to Children under the age of 16 after 9pm, so for evening performances, please do not book tickets for children under the age of 16. Children aged 16 and above are welcome at any time.

Seats are not numbered and you will be seated at available tables. Please note tables seat 4 people, so for bookings of less than 4 people, you will be seated and share a table for 4.

For £17.50 Tickets:

This is a fully seated event.  Seats are not numbered and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Please NOTE, there is NO food served in the Jazz Club, there is a bar for drinks. We advise booking a table for dinner at the Duke of Hamilton upstairs at least 1hr before show-time – Book Here

Please note the Jazz Club is situated in the basement of the Duke of Hamilton Pub and access is via a number of stairs. The nearest toilets are situated on the 1st floor of the Pub.
