Claudio Suriano Trio

We proudly present ‘Earth Calling‘ – a live jazz concert that merges tradition and innovation, drawing listeners into a world of evocative melodies, bold improvisation, and engaging rhythms. At the forefront is Italian guitarist Claudio Suriano, whose vision shaped the album ‘Earth Calling‘, now brought to life on stage.

Joining him are the soulful George Johnson on tenor sax and the talented Luke McCarthy on drums. Claudio Suriano is a Copenhagen-based guitarist and composer who has collaborated with established artists in the jazz scene, such as Danish pianist Niels Lan Doky, British singer Jordan Jackson, and American jazz legends Paul Wertico and Steve Rodby. George Johnson, born and raised in North London, is one of the youngest jazz saxophone sensations on the London jazz scene. His playing has been described by London Jazz News as having a ‘really rounded and mature sound.

Luke is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music. Since moving to London, Luke has had opportunities to perform alongside world class musicians both nationwide and in London’s top venues, such as Ronnie Scott’s and a live album recently recorded at Pizza Express with the Jonny Mansfield Quartet. Together, they create a dynamic, high-energy performance that captivates from start to finish.

Earth Calling‘ is not just another jazz concert, it’s an immersive experience that explores the depth and versatility of jazz, offering everything from introspective ballads to foot-tapping, high-energy grooves. The synergy between Suriano’s inventive guitar work, George Johnson’s soaring saxophone lines, and McCarthy’s tight rhythmic foundation transforms each performance into a spontaneous adventure, pushing the boundaries of improvisation and showcasing the individual brilliance of each musician.
