Hampstead Jazz Club proudly presents the hotly anticipated autumn season of The Snug Sessions at Bishop’s Court Farm, a series of very special shows featuring a line-up of some of the brightest stars in contemporary jazz and soul.

The pure soulful power of Carroll Thompson’s inimitable voice remains undimmed more than 40 years after she first burst into the spotlight with her ground-breaking million-selling debut, which was recently crowned the Greatest Lovers Rock Album Of All Time by Mojo Magazine.

The undisputed Queen Of Lovers Rock, she released a run of reggae classics including Hopelessly In Love, I’m So Sorry and Just A Little Bit that melted a million hearts. Whilst Lovers Rock gave women a voice in British reggae and influenced everyone from Sade to Culture Club, Carroll Thompson steadfastly refused to be pigeonholed, working alongside a seemingly endless list of legends including Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Pet Shop Boys.

Backed by her world class Jamaican Jazz Quintet, she has just finished recording a unique new studio album that blurs the lines between Lovers Rock, classic jazz and vintage soul as she dives into a sea of iconic Great American Songbook evergreens and self-penned originals.

We are very excited to welcome this true legend to Bishop’s Court Farm for what promises to be one of the highlights of our new season of Snug Sessions shows.
