Frequently Asked Questions
Can I choose where I sit?
There are only two ticket types, tickets with a ‘small table’ or ‘no table’. Seating is on a first-come first-served basis and seats with a table, are for 4 people, so bookings for less than 4 people will mean sharing a table.
I want to book for a group. How do I go about this?
Although the online system only allows you to book a maximum of six tickets per transaction, you can complete several bookings.
The show I want to attend says it is ‘Sold Out’. What can I do?
We do occasionally get cancellations. Email us at bookings@hampsteadjazzclub.com, they will add you to a waiting list, but this isn’t a guarantee that any tickets will become available.
Are there any age restrictions at the Hampstead Jazz Club?
Unfortunately, we are not allowed to have children below 16 years old in the Jazz Club after 9pm. So for evening performances which normally take place 8pm-10pm, children below 16 years old would not be permitted.
Some of our lunchtime shows and early Sunday shows are suitable for Children as performances finish by 9pm.
Is food available in the venues? Are food and/or drinks included in the ticket price?
The Duke of Hamilton offers a full menu (daytime and evening) and table bookings can be made after booking Jazz Club tickets. The Jazz Club does not offer any food. Dinner can be booked either before or after the show.
Do I have to eat or can I just listen to the music?
We do encourage our guests to enjoy the food and drink on offer at the Duke of Hamilton. The full Duke of Hamilton menu is available online. It is thanks to our food and drink revenues that we are able to consistently book world class artists in intimate venues.
How do I get my tickets?
We do not send any physical tickets, electronic tickets are sent directly after booking. On the night of the show, you just need to show your electronic ticket at the door.
Do I have to book in advance?
We strongly advise booking in advance as many shows sell out in advance. If tickets are available on the night, you can purchase these on the door. Arrive early though to give yourself the best chance.
Do you have vegetarian/vegan or gluten-free options?
The full Duke of Hamilton Pub menu is available online and this includes many vegetarian and vegan options.
How can I cancel my booking?
We are unable to refund tickets once purchased. However if you contact bookings@hampsteadjazzclub.com and there is a waiting list, you may be able to offer your tickets to those on the wait list.
Do you have a dress code?
We are quite relaxed about the dress code (within reason). Most people choose to dress ‘smart casual’.
I’m a musician. How do I get to play at the Hampstead Jazz Club?
If you are interested in performing at the club, you can either post a CD to the Creative Team, at Hampstead Jazz Club, The Duke of Hamilton, 23-25 New End, Hampstead, NW3 1JD or send an email to bookings@hampsteadjazzclub.com along with a link to some sound files or, better still, a video of you performing. We do get thousands of requests to perform, so please be patient with us – we do try and listen to everything we get sent. We normally book our venues up to six months in advance.
How can I hire the venue for a private event?
Unfortunately our venue is not available for private hires.
What time does the Jazz Club open? What time do they close?

Monday to Saturday – doors 7:30pm; show starts 8:00pm; show finishes 9:30pmm with a single 75 min set no breaks.
